Profile of the Managing Partner

Shintaro Yukitoshi

Born in Osaka, Japan. Graduated from Osaka University.

He founded Syntax Partners in 2023 and has since led the firm as Managing Partner.

Over the course of a decade-long career as an advisor, he has led more than 100 projects across 10+ countries. His experience spans a wide range of industries — from traditional sectors such as food, manufacturing, logistics, and aviation, to next-generation fields including IT, chemicals, and high-tech. He has consistently supported Japanese companies in their overseas expansion and business development, from strategic planning through to execution.

Previously, he was with Frontier Management, Inc. (Tokyo Headquarters), a publicly listed advisory firm, where he worked on both domestic and international M&A transactions across the full deal lifecycle from strategy formulation to execution. At a boutique M&A firm based in Thailand, he worked extensively in the ASEAN market. There, he gained frontline experience in cross-border transactions between Japanese and local companies, while also leading the firm’s expansion of its network across ASEAN countries.

During his university years, he pursued studies in international economics, international relations and diplomacy, and communications, establishing a solid academic foundation in global affairs. As part of his extracurricular engagement, he participated in Japanese language education initiatives for overseas students and undertook extensive travel across various countries as a backpacker—experiences that sparked his passion for contributing to Asia’s economic development and led him to a career in cross-border advisory.
